ADVENTURE IS WAITING.

TRAVEL. A group trip with my closest buds, a couples getaway, a professional convention with colleagues, or a solo retreat for inner reflection. New experiences and adventures become fond memories that I can recall time and time again. And these experiences add depth to my character as I strive for continuous growth.

FOOD. Raised in a family who loves to cook, a father who was an architect, and employment in the hotel industry for almost my entire professional career influences my destinations. My adoration of hotels and restaurants, from the architectural space, hospitality, and ambiance, typically has me hotel hopping or searching for the top ranked local fare.

CULTURE. New experiences expand my mind. Studying a foreign language, trying international cuisine, and learning social norms can push comfort zones, shift perspective, and lead to my own personal growth. Taking time off from the office to break from my traditional routines and ignite my creativity.

“The longer I live the more beautiful life becomes. If you foolishly ignore beauty, you will soon find yourself without it…But if you invest in beauty, it will remain with you all the days of your life.”

— FRANK LLOYD WRIGHT

DRINKS ON ME.

In every city I visit, there are two establishments I frequent, local markets (the use of space, the local produce and cuisine), and hotel bars. The combination of the space, vibrancy, and connectedness from people around the world excites me. Below is a curated list of my favorite hotel bars from my travels, a summary of my experience, and my top criteria ranking.

PULITZER’S BAR, HOTEL PULITZER

AMSTERDAM, NL. Stroll past the canals and pop into this timeless classic. This snug lounge is everything you could every ask for in a bar. Dark and sexy. Check out the Ernest Hemingway inspired cocktail menu.

MIRAMAR BEACH BAR, ROSEWOOD MONTECITO

SANTA BARBARA, CA. This bar is not to be missed if you’re in the Santa Barbara area. Amazing beach views, and a railroad track with train that runs right through the premises. Choo choo!! Sip a moscow mule, kick off your heels, and play a game of shuffle board.

THE LOUNGE AT BOURBON STEAK, FOUR SEASONS HOTEL

WASHINGTON, D.C. My local watering hole. Great people watching from global ambassadors to celebrity sightings. Squeeze your way in to a seat at the bar, or smoke a cigar and lounge by an outdoor fire pit. Cocktail of honor - The Hairy Chest. Tart, spicy, and a little sweet.
